Research overview

The centre investigates the impact of illness and disability, home and family, health service delivery, nutrition, physical activity and exercise, on children from conception until when they leave school.  The focus of research is directed toward examining ways of enhancing and advocating for healthy outcomes and environments for children as they transition between life ages and stages, between health services and between hospital and home.

The centre is involved in research projects that contribute internationally to the evidence-base of biological, behavioral, and environmental determinants of children's health.  Emphasis is on cross-disciplinary research and involving researchers and practitioners from the fields of nursing, medicine, psychology, nutrition, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, public health, physiology, exercise science, and biostatistics.
